Arcade Fire ?On Fire? At Coachella Festival

Arcade Fire graced the stage of the Coachella festival yesterday (April 17) and owned the event’s second night by ripping their music apart in front of hoards of perplexed fans.

They started off the proceedings with the “Month of May”- from their Grammy winning album The Suburbs, and drew curtains on the night with another magical performance of “Sprawl II.”

During the band’s time on stage, the crowd constantly kept singing along with them in full flow, and didn’t miss a word during “Rebellion (Lies),” “Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)” and “Neighborhood 3 (Power Out).”

Arcade Fire were also impressed with the immense audience response and they told their fans on multiple occasions that how grateful they were for all the love and respect they are receiving. “We don’t take this for granted, even for a second,” one of the band members announced.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival featured more than a 100 artists and groups at the Empire Polo Club and the musical magic created by them all was out of this world.

Even Animal Collective, who are regarded by many as not the best of live performers, were extra ordinary, thanks in part to the stunning videography. They proved to all the doubters that they have what it takes to steal the show. However, their preset reputation meant that not many fans turned up to watch them, as the masses chose Empire of the Sun perform on one of the other stages.

Erykah Badu took to the stage late on the show and froze her fans in the state of perplexity. She started off with “20 Feet Tall” and then tore into “Didn’t Cha Know,” after strongly recommending her fans to scream as loud as they can if they like her performance.
The rock music fans, who may have felt a bit left out until then, also got something for their liking when Rage Against the Machine’s vocalist Zach De La Rocha and Mars Volta’s former drummer Jon Theodore combined to deliver ‘One Day as a Lion.’

On the other side of the music fest were Swell Season and the Scissor Sisters, who admired the Mojave tent act Elbow and said, “They don’t get the recognition they deserve, here in this country — just like the Scissor Sisters!”
For the house music fans, Steve Angello brought the love, while Andy C. and GQ brought back nostalgia with their crazy 90s music.

Casey lacked killer instinct

Casey lacked killer instinct

Paul Casey says his Titleist Scotty Cameron California Coronado Putter may have gotten too technical in 2010, and that he may have sacrificed a bit of his killer instinct in the process.

The Englishman still had a good year, starting with a slow recovery from a rib injury and ending with being firmly ensconced in the top 10, but he feels Titleist Scotty Cameron California Coronado Putter could have been better.

The 33-year-old is most disappointed with his failure to win on either side of the Atlantic, despite putting in a lot of hard work on his swing.

“It was very close to being a fantastic year,” Casey told Reuters.

“Overall I am slightly disappointed and frustrated with no wins.

“I played some very good Titleist Scotty Cameron California Coronado Putter, gave myself lots of opportunities but didn’t close anything out. So from that angle I’m not happy.”

Casey secured seven top-10 finishes in 17 starts on the PGA Tour, including two runner-up spots at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and the BMW Championship.

“It’s another season where I felt like I have progressed and I am a better player than I was before, trying to tick all the Titleist Scotty Cameron California Coronado Putter on things that need work,” he said.

“And I’ve done a good job at that but is that at the sacrifice of losing that slight killer instinct when you’ve got to close out a tournament? I don’t know.

“You’ve got be willing to risk it a little bit more to pull off the win. Playing nice, clean, sensible Titleist Scotty Cameron California Coronado Putter is great and it gets you good results but sometimes you need to be a little more aggressive.

“In the past, I’ve been pretty good at closing out tournaments. If I’ve had a sniff, I’ve won,” he added.

With the 2011 season on the horizon, Casey is looking to put any lingering disappointment behind him, and is already focusing on his Titleist Scotty Cameron California Coronado Putter for the new year.
